As the group walks towards the rock formation DQ points at some large
black birds among the trees, then says in a hushed tone, \“Look, day
shadows from the peaks of the Bollywoods on New India.\”
\“They live in the third level of quadruple canopy where they always
have shadows for cover. Males grow webbing between their tail feathers,
using it to catch insects. They fly into streams of light netting
insects to take back to the nest. Seeing one is a good omen. Not seeing
one is a good way to get a face full of bugs and bird net. A group of day
shadows is called a fishing village.\”
